Other Information
As our surfaces are made up of organic materials, it is possible that the colour could slightly change over time and could shrink or crack in places, similar to the way in which wood would behave. With the appropriate care given, our surfaces can last up to at least twenty years.
Care
To ensure the long and durable life of KAVA, it is recommended that water and neutral soaps are used. The care of the surfaces is similar to that of natural wood. It is advised to avoid permanent wetness, or prolonged contact with moisture. Leaving wet cloths and towels on the surface is ill-advised, as are pots that leak. The surfaces should also be kept free of stones or grit which can scratch the coating. Avoid any blows and rubbing with hard objects.
Although KAVA offers a high resistance to chemicals, cleaning should be
done with neutral soaps, never with aggressive or descaling products. Additionally, products such as chlorine, bleach, ammonia, soaps and detergents in general should be avoided, as they can damage the protective film. Hydrochloric acid, pure bleach, acetone and ammonia will mark after a half hour of exposure, but if cleaning is done quickly, no stains will remain.
End of Life
This organic, plastic-free product, Kava, is fit to be discarded in any local recycling centre, under the chipboard or timber category. Alternatively, you can get in touch with us and we can use it again. We encourage you to return it to us so we can transform it into something new.
